Jackim and Yang Win Medals at Catholic Memorial Tournament
LHS-VHHS fencing team co-captains, Skyler Jackim and Kalina Yang each won medals in the Women’s Sabre Event at the Catholic Memorial High School Invitational Fencing Tournament in Waukesha on November 23, 2013. The highly competitive CMHS tournament drew 366 fencers from 14 high schools in WI, MN, IN and IL.
Jackim, a freshman at LHS, tied for 3rd place out of a pool of 46 fencers bringing home a bronze medal for the team. Yang, a senior at VHHS, placed 7th place and brought home a medal for finishing in the top eight.

The following Thundercat fencers improved individually over their performance at the Stevenson tournament the previous week. Jackim went from 6th place to 3rd, while Yang went from 11th to 7th. Schlicht improved from 30th to 24th, and Carlson increased from 28th to 17th.
